The end of February in the Colorado mountains is a striking blend of deep winter and the first hints of spring. Snow still blankets the towering peaks and alpine valleys, creating a pristine, postcard-perfect landscape. Ski resorts buzz with activity as visitors carve through fresh powder, while backcountry trails offer a quieter, more rugged escape. Yet, as the days grow longer, subtle changes begin\u2014icicles drip in the midday sun, and the occasional warm breeze teases the promise of spring. Wildlife stirs, with elk and deer foraging in sun-dappled meadows, and hardy evergreens stand tall against the lingering chill.
